Education & Management Task Force
Background
The Education and Management Task Force (EMTF) was set up to manage and develop IASO’s education programme, SCOPE - Specialist Certification of Obesity Professional Education.
The EMTF is responsible for educational programmes that include an obesity management certification programme called SCOPE, and addressing clinical management guidelines and their relationship to other disciplines, including: hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and bariatric surgery. Our mission statement is as follows:
- To improve and provide education in obesity
- To recognise leaders and experts in the field
- To develop evidence-based management pathways
The EMTF also deals with issues pertaining to the management of specific population groups, for example children, the elderly, people with disabilities, and different ethnic groups. It builds and maintains close relationships with the international medical associations of related disorders.
