Dr David York is the USTAR Director for the Centre for Advanced  Nutrition at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. He was previously on the faculty at Southampton University Department of Human Nutrition (1971 - 1989) before moving to the Pennington Biomedical Research centre in Baton Rouge where he was the Associate Executive Director for Basic Research, then to Utah in 2006.  His major research interests are in animal models of obesity, central and peripheral mechanisms controlling food intake and macronutrient selection; the biology of entrostain, the glucocorticoid-dependence of animal obesities and the role of exercise in preventing neurodegeneration. Dr York is the past president of the North American Region of The Obesity Society (TOS) and is currently the Treasurer of the IASO. He is the Chairman of the Board of Obesity International Trading.
