Professor Jean-Michel Oppert is Professor of Nutrition at University Pierre-et-Marie Curie (Paris VI, Pitié-Salpêtrière Medical School) and his current clinical position is at the Department of Nutrition, Hôtel-Dieu Hospital, Paris. He serves in the board of the French Association for the Study of Obesity (AFERO), the Steering Committee of the International Association for the Study of Obesity (IASO) Physical Activity TaskForce, the European Diabetes Epidermiology Group (EDEG) of EASD and of the International Society for Behaviour in Nutrition and Physical Activity (ISBNPA). Professor Oppert is a major contributor to the Advisory Committee for the national campaign on physical activity and health that was launched in 2004 in the framework of the French National Nutrition and Health Programme. He is a member of the Exercutive committee of the EASO, was President-elect in 2006 and is currently the President of the EASO.
