Dr Ramen Goel, is an Honorary Professor of Surgery at Grant Medical College and J. J Group of Hospitals and, a pioneer bariatric surgeon in India. His clinical attachment is at Bombay Hospital and at the Wockhardt Group of Hospitals. An avid teacher, his interest extends to clinical research in obesity management.  Dr Goel has conducted obesity training programs for physicians and delivered public awareness lectures across Asia. He has contributed a number of articles on obesity surgery. His current research subjects include ‘Impact of bariatric surgery on diabetes & metabolic syndrome’, ‘Impact of Marketing on Food Choices of Adolescents'.  Dr Goel is the President of All India Association for Advancing Research in Obesity and was the Chair-person of the Asia-Oceania Congress on Obesity, 2009. He is passionate about the effective management of obesity.
