Professor Walmir Coutinho is Associate Professor of Endocrinology at the Catholic University of Rio de Jenairo, Brazil. He is past-President  of Brazilian Association for the Study of Obesity and  Latin America Federation of Obesity Societies. He served as Vice-President of IASO for Latin America. Professor Coutinho coordinates the Obesity and Eating Disorders Group at the State of Institute of Diabetes and Endocrinology of Rio de Janeiro. He developed a concordat with ten Latin American Countries to tackle the prevention and management of obesity: the Rio de Janeiro Declaration. He currently is the the IASO President Elect.
