The 7th SCOPE School was held in Dublin, Ireland from Thursday 11th - Saturday 13th July 2013.
Venue: Crowne Plaza Dublin Northwood,
Northwood Park, Santry, Dublin 9, Ireland
The course covered a wide range of topics, the aim of which is to enable attendees to manage all aspects of managing a patient suffering with obesity and associated co-morbidities. The programme brought together experts from across the world to address the assessment, treatment and prevention of obesity.
A SCOPE fellow needs to be able to integrate existing knowledge and also apply different treatment modalities to individual patients. With this in mind, this year’s course addressed very low calorie diets, physiological needs, bariatric surgery and managing long term weight loss.
SCOPE School is an interactive learning experience which includes practical sessions, lectures and panel discussions. This event is targeted at professionals working in clinical practice, including: nurses, nutritionists, physiotherapists and anybody who works directly with obese patients as well as students training in the area of obesity.
