The organizers of the International Congress on Obesity have announced a new Super Early Bird Registration Rate giving

IASO members a bonus discount on delegates fees for a limited period.    

 

The reduced rate is available until 31 March 2006.  So register quickly – Full Delegate IASO Members can save $AUD 210 (US$156). 

 

The special rates are as follows:              IASO Member $AUD   900 + GST                    Non-member    $AUD 1125 + GST       

 

At December 2005, the SUPER EARLYBIRD registration fee for a Full Delegate (Member) (AUD 990) is equivalent to:

TOP INTERNATIONAL AWARDS ANNOUNCED FOR OBESITY RESEARCH

 

Winners of the IASO Awards for Scientific Excellence 2006

 

IASO is pleased to announce the winners of its Awards for Scientific Excellence 2006 to be presented during the 10th International Congress on Obesity (ICO) in Sydney, Australia

 

The Willendorf Award for outstanding clinical contributions:


The Wertheimer Award
for outstanding research by a basic scientist:


The André Mayer Award
for outstanding research by an investigator under the age of 40:

IASO New Investigator Award 2006

 

IASO is inviting applications for IASO New Investigator Award 2006. This aims to promote interest in obesity research amongst investigators who are still in training. The competition for the Award is held every four years during the International Congress on Obesity with oral presentations of five papers judged to be the best among those submitted. The five finalists will have travel, accommodation and registration costs of attending the ICO2006 covered. Applicants must be in their first training post relating to obesity research, although there is no age limit. The awards are supported through an educational grant from GlaxoSmithKline.

 

Per Björntorp Travelling Fellowship Fund

 

IASO’s Per Björntorp Travelling Fellowship Fund is offering the opportunity for suitably qualified individuals to compete for up to 5 travel grants of up to US$2000 each to attend the 10th International Congress on Obesity 2006 in Sydney, Australia. Those eligible to apply are young scientists and clinicians under the age of 35, who might otherwise be precluded from participation for financial reasons.

IASO Stock Conference 2006

 

The 5th in this successful series of highly interactive hot topic meetings is entitled “Epigenetics, Obesity & its Associated Disorders”.  The conference will take place 6 – 8 March 2006 in Bangkok, Thailand, chaired by Drs Claudine Junien and Peter Nathanielsz.

 

The deadline for receipt of applications for places at the next Stock Conference is Monday 19 December.
