Euan Woodward  BA (Hons), PGDip, Executive Director of EASO

Euan Woodward graduated in European Business in 1996 and completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism Management in 1998. He began his career organising fundraising events for a small charity based in Glasgow and then worked for five years for a Conference Management Agency where he was responsible for the management and organisation of international congresses for large medical and scientific associations. He moved to London in 2003 and continued his career managing medical conferences for a Professional Conference Organiser before joining IASO in February 2005.  He has gained extensive experience of international congress management and is now responsible for managing future ECOs and ICOs and for the development of the conference division of Obesity International Trading Limited

Neville Rigby, Director of Policy and Public Affairs
Neville Rigby has worked initially with the International Obesity Taskforce and the International Association for the Study of Obesity for more than 10 years, dealing with media, policy and advocacy for the organization. He is a former political correspondent and international journalist. In his present role he prepares briefing papers, policy statements and publications, represents the organisation at WHO, EU and Commonwealth Ministers meetings, and coordinates the Global Alliance for the Prevention of Obesity and related Chronic Diseases, a group of NGOs formally linked to WHO including the World Heart Federation, the International Diabetes Federation, the International Pediatric Association, the International Union of Nutritional Sciences, as well as IASO.

Tim Lobstein PhD, Director, Childhood Obesity Research Programme.

Tim Lobstein is an internationally renowned policy specialist he helped produce a book providing WHO Europe’s guidance to governments on its Food Nutrition Action Plan and is a consultant to WHO on food policy issues. He was responsible for several of the background documents that led to the WHO Charter on Obesity, launched in Istanbul in 2006 and is currently editing the follow-up documentation. He helped launch the new International Journal of Pediatric Obesity and is on its editorial board. He has acted as a consultant to the European Commission on policy initiatives on nutrition, and played a leading role in the EC-funded PorGrow project analysing stakeholder views on policy options to tackle obesity in Europe. He is now coordinating work-package 2 of the EC-funded HOPE project, the largest project to analyse European public health strategies for obesity ever undertaken.

Una Murray BSc (Hons), BA (Hons), MA, ACCA, Director of Finance and Administration

Una Murray taught Mechanical Engineering for six years in a University in China before coming to the UK.  She has recently qualified as an accountant through one of the biggest international accountancy bodies. She worked for a London charity for six and half years, managing office administration and finance. She has considerable experience of charity finance, corporate governance, database management and office administration. Her current duties at IASO include finance, membership and operations management.

Rachel Jackson Leach BA (Hons), MSc, Senior Policy Officer

Rachel Jackson Leach was formerly a company nutritionist for a corporate health & fitness company and freelance nutritionist. She has been involved with the Comparative Risk Assessment Collaborating Group for High BMI, the FORESIGHT project and has been co-author on a number of recent journal and book chapter publications. She is responsible for analysing and maintaining the obesity prevalence database alongside establishing and developing a prevention policy database.

Liz Freeman BA (Hons) - Conference Manager - Communications
Liz Freeman graduated in Spanish and Human Resource Management in 2002.  She spent almost two years in northern Spain, teaching English before returning to England and working in communications and food and drink PR, before joining IASO in 2004. She works closely with the Director of Congresses and Education – managing the marketing and exhibition aspects of the congresses and organising the SCOPE Courses and Stock Conferences. Liz is a fluent Spanish speaker.

Marco Presutto Bus (Hons) - Conference Manager – Programme and Registration

Marco  Presutto has over four years' experience organising a wide range of events, conferences and congresses worldwide and over seven years' experience as a project officer and technical analyst in the telecoms and IT industry. Marco joined IASO from Consumers International as a conference manager in late 2006. Marco's specific responsibilities lie in the planning and co-ordination of IASO's congress programmes and registration. Marco is a fluent Italian speaker.

Karen Schlaegel BA (Hons) - Administrative Assistant

Karen Schlaegel graduated in European Business in 2003. After her studies in the UK and France she returned to Germany where she worked as a conference producer. She then moved on to become project assistant for a Not for Profit cultural organization where she was responsible for the organization of a European media art project. Karen is a German native speaker and fluent in English and French.
